Animux uses Chapter Nos instead of Version Nos in its distro. The Chapter 2 (Tremor) for Animux is being written right now and has been Alpha Stage for some time now.  It should be ready for Beta testing the first week of August no later than August 15th, 2009.

We are looking for Beta testers for the Animux Tremor.

Tremor Features Include ...
  • 2.6.29 RT kernel
  • A bunch of new hardware drivers
  • Most applications have been upgraded
  • DrQueue preconfigured
  • Renderman compliant Shader build/compile packages.
  • Core package to support Animation Digital Asset Management included.

Thanks mark. I will now be testing animux tremor beta.
I want to congratulate you for getting the second version (still beta) which sounds even more stable and versatile then Genesis.
Thanks for allowing me to beta test it.
regards

Hi Atomheart,

We will like to hear from people who use animux and how best we can improve it. We would appreciate it if you can join us in the chatroom and give us some feedback.

Thank you for using animux.

Hi, I would be really interested in testing Chapter 2, I have been using chapter 1 one for a while, also mainly for blender,, but also for farm management, with farmerjoe. so far i'm impressed, however i would like to expand the farm management by using drqueue and am interested in how you have integrated that better in CH2

I co-run a small production studio and we use Linux for all out workstations and we also have a few g5 macs which we use with OSX, however it would be great to be able to add their power to the farm by live booting into a slave mode.

We would be able to test the 64bit intel version and the power pc version. Happy to provide feedback in the chatroom or on here.

I would be interested in trying the v2.  Someone said in another post that tremor had more drivers pre-installed than genesis...  I wanted to see if I could get my wireless card to work without a whole lot of hassle.  Where can I get to the download link?  All I see is genesis.  interested in the 32-bit right now.

looking forward to getting this to work!
